Happy Friday SRES Families!

We are ready and excited to welcome students next week!

There is a lot of new information here, so please take the time to read each bullet:

  • Meals

    • We are thrilled to announce that, at this time, USDA is continuing the program to offer FREE MEALS to all children. Breakfast & Lunch will be free to all kids 18 and under until at least 12/31/20 (subject to USDA funding).

    • We have posted our hot lunch menu on our website and I am attaching it here.  When students are in school they will have the option of hot lunch, sunbutter & jam sandwich, or premade salad.  The breakfast menu is a simple 5- day cycle.

    • PLEASE fill out the MEAL ORDER FORM  so kitchen staff will have an idea as to how many meals to prepare the first week.  This form is especially important if you plan to pick-up meals curbside on the days your student working remotely.

    • The following curbside meal pick-up sites will be open M-F beginning 9/8:
      BFMS 1-2PM
      BFUHS 1-2PM
      SRES 1-2PM
      GES 12-1PM

    • Menu for September September 2020 Lunch Menu pdf.pdf

  • Morning procedure:

    • All students will be screened at school

    • Given this, PLEASE be prepared for longer wait times (especially at drop off)

      • Thank you, in advance, for your understanding and patience

  • Clothing/sneakers

    • We will not be able to provide students with extra clothing/sneakers

      • Please make sure your student wears sneakers on PE days

      • Please pack extra clothing (a complete change for K students and season-appropriate for all - eg. a sweatshirt in case it gets cool)

  • Devices

    • Students should bring a charged device each day for in-person learning

    • Devices should remain in cases at all times (iPad users, we anticipated having cases and are working to ensure this happens)

  • Medication

    • If your student needs medication administered at school, please contact our school nurse, Jennifer Vaughan, as soon as possible

  • Transportation

    • Our supervisory union decided today to follow the 2019-2020 schedule for now

    • Change:  Buses will not be turning around to pick up students who arrived late to their bus stop; please be on time!

    • PLEASE email Josh at SRES with transportation changes, ideally prior to 2pm (eg. pick up instead of bus)

  • There are two videos on our website and FB page that would we wonderful to watch with your child prior to the first day.  A big thank you to Nurse Jenn and Mrs. Fuller for putting these together to help students transition to school.

    • 3 Ws video

    • A Little Spot Wears a Mask read aloud

We are going to have a great year together!  Please continue to reach out with your questions, concerns, and feedback as the more we communicate, the stronger community we will build.

Have a terrific long weekend with your family.  I'm so excited for the first day of school...and, we have two first days this year; even better!
